CURTISS-WRIGHT LAUNCHES PARYLENE CONFORMAL COATING CAPABILITIES IN THE UNITED KINGDOM
PARAMUS, NJ – October 9, 2024 – Curtiss-Wright’s Surface Technologies Division, a leading global provider of highly engineered surface treatments and analytical services, today announces the addition of parylene conformal coating capabilities in the UK.
Curtiss-Wright has expanded its comprehensive range of coating processes by introducing parylene conformal coatings at the well-established E/M® Coating Services facility in Evesham, Worcestershire, UK. This addition will enable Curtiss-Wright to offer more localized services to the UK supply chain, supporting both new and existing customers in the medical and electronics device manufacturing industries.
“We are thrilled to introduce parylene conformal coatings to our portfolio of engineered coatings at our Evesham, UK plant. Bringing this technology to the local market will improve efficiencies and create new business opportunities in the United Kingdom,” said David Rivellini, Vice President and General Manager of the Surface Technologies division.
Medical applications benefit from parylene’s intrinsic properties of lubricity, biocompatibility and resistance to solvents, radiation and bacteria. Parylene is also well suited to ruggedizing high value printed circuit boards and electronic components due to its combination of high dielectric strength, moisture resistance, thin profile, and transparency. It is suitable for metals, elastomers, electronics, and plastics. An ultra-thin film polymer coating, parylene provides a uniform pin-hole-free barrier coating to all shapes, edges, crevices, and recesses with the same thickness without suffering any of the edge effects of conventional coatings.
